Setting yourself up to work in Dublin
Setting up in Dublin is pretty easy as far as work goes but there is some paperwork you need. Let's start from the start though; one thing people don't plan before they leave is accommodation. You should always have accommodation planned before you arrive in a country. The last thing you want is to arrive and have nowhere to stay. Another great thing about having a hostel or hotel booked is the free internet that is in about 95% of accommodation. With access to the internet you can find out basically anything you need to. The first thing you need to do is print a map out or download an map of Dublin for your phone. Now you just need to find out where the Garda National Immigration Bureau is and make you way there. At the GNIB you need to provide proof that you are eligible to work in Ireland. They will issue you with a Cert to proved to employers that you can legally work. After this you will need to get your PPS number. This basically puts you on the books so you can pay taxes on your earnings. Once you have this documentation, you are good to go! All that's left to do is try and find work in a country that is economically dead in the water, happy hunting! |
