Student jobs. First things first, in order to work in New York over the summer you will have to get J1 student visa. Happily this is comparatively easy and should be done far in advance of your trip. The first thing you have to is find an organisation that is authorised to sponsor exchange visitors. The easiest way to do this is go through your college- they will know who to contact. The next steps are obvious enough and involve all of the usual document gathering and photo taking you would expect. The process is not difficult cut it can take a while. Get started early!

Then all you have to do is get job hunting! We recommend trying to make contact with prospective employers in advance of travelling but if you don't get anything don't be disheartened. Many people go over without anything organised and pick up work quickly enough!
